It's so close

Feb. 23; 29 weeks and some odd days
I just realized I only have 10 weeks left until Ellie gets here! Everything has gone by so fast thus far... Work is going well, I just get winded very quickly when I give notes. On one hand I wish I didn't have to work right now but on the other hand I realize that I would be bored stiff sitting at home. I'm still getting up 4 or 5 times a night so I am not getting much sleep. I did finally break down and buy a pregnancy wedge so that my stomach is supported when I sleep. It is such a rip off to pay $17 for a tiny wedge pillow but I guess they know that you need it. Oh, and I put together the pack and play that my aunt gave me last weekend. It took me this whole week to figure out where the "bassinet" part is. I went to Babies R Us today and looked at the ones that were already assembled and realized that the "mattress" that goes at the bottom of the pack and play is the same mattress that you use for the bassinet part. To use the bassinet you just have to attach the netting that holds it up. It's hard to explain but I am relieved because now I don't have to worry about bending over to pick up Ellie all through the night :-) I also bought a quilted mattress pad to make it a little softer for our sweet little baby :-) I have 2 diaper bags, both packed and ready to go. The car seat is in B'ham and we will pick it up in a couple of weeks when we go to Jackie's wedding. So, that's it I guess...Oh, and I had a dream the other night that I had Ellie a week early and she looked just like Stephen. She had big beautiful blue eyes. I guess in a couple of months we'll see if these pregnancy dreams are true or not.

YAY!!!

I passed my glucose test :-) This means I do not have gestational diabetes!!! I went to Birmingham last Saturday and came back on Monday morning. I spent Valentines night with Kelly, Chip, Josh, and Jasmine. We ate at Olive Garden and it was very yummy. Sunday we had my baby shower and it was very nice. I got to see a lot of people that I haven't seen since Christmas or Thanksgiving so that was really nice. Monday Stephen and I went to my aunt Rachel's and we all went out to eat and just hung out. So now it is Wednesday and I just got home from the dentist.

The weather is so nice down here, I love it! I'm still trying to go walking but it is so hard. My stomach gets really hard and I start waddling after about 20 minutes, it actually probably looks quite funny. OH, Stephen has now decided that we will name the baby Elizabeth Taylor Fike; we'll see how long this lasts. He has changed his mind on the middle name at least 4 times already... Well, have a good day! Oh, go to my pictures for updates ;-)

Not good

Well, I failed the glucose test so now I have to go back on Friday morning and take the three hour test. I cannot eat anything after midnight on Thursday. I go in for the test at 8:45 and have to sit in the office for three hours getting my blood drawn every hour. So, this is not good news. I hope I can make it for that long without food. Normally I end up throwing up when I get hungry so we'll see. I hope that I pass this next test but honestly it probably won't happen :-( So, that's the update, I'll post next week when I get back from Birmingham :-)

28 weeks and counting

I went in for my glucose test today. The drink is not bad at all, it tasted like Orange soda. My belly is getting so big! Valentines is this weekend and I was trying to think of something sweet to do for Stephen that morning. I am leaving Saturday around noon to go to Birmingham so I will only see him in the morning. I have a couple of ideas but I won't put them on here just in case he actually reads my blog :-) Well, that's all, here's a new picture (from tonight)

February is here

I am glad that February is finally here, this means we only have a few more months until Ellie gets here!!! We are both very excited and ready for her arrival. I have tried my best not to buy her any clothes but of course I have not succeeded in that area. It's really hard to pass up cute clothes that are on clearance. I have been buying mainly stuff for later because that is what is on sale right now. However, I have also bought some newborn stuff. Do you have any idea how hard it is to find newborn clothes? She's going to be dressed so cute!!! My shower is in less than two weeks and I am very excited. I'll get to see all of my friends in Birmingham :-)

I have been packing more stuff around the house. I'm trying to get ready to move but some of the stuff can't be packed because we are using it. I think we mainly have only big stuff to pack.

Stephen is in Vegas all week and I am lonely. Luckily he will be home in two days. I don't like being home alone. I've tried to stay busy but of course today I broke down and went shopping. However, I am happy to say that I got a bunch of stuff for not much money. I had a couple of gift certificates for DSW so I got myself two pairs of shoes for only $12!!! Everything else was for Ellie of course. Tomorrow I have open house so that will make the day go by fast; although I HATE open house.

Well, y'all have a great day!
