IT'S A GIRL!!

Little Baby Elizabeth is doing good. She is about 10 ounces and is squirming all over the place. Everything in the sonogram looked good (heart, brain, kidneys, neck, spine, etc). I'll post sonogram pictures soon!

Only a few days to go

19 weeks 4 days

19 weeks 5 days

Last week was a really long week because I am anticipating finding out the sex of our baby next week :-) It was a good week over all with the exception of yesterday. I normally leave my house at 6:15 for work. WEll, yesterday I didn't even wake up until 6:49!! That meant that class was going to start in 20 minutes. I was PANICKED so I called the guy that teaches across the hall from me and he said he would watch my class until I got there. I just put my hair up, got dressed, brushed my teeth and was out the door. I was driving like a race car driver the whole way there and managed to only be 10 minutes late to class! Once I got in class it was quite chaotic. We were reviewing for a test when I realized that they didn't know the material; so I stopped the review and started going over the last couple of chapters again. I was just completely off track and it made for a pretty stressful morning. I normally get there at 6:45 so I have time to check email, go over plans for the day, write the agenda on the board, and get mentally ready for them so needless to say yesterday felt like a total wash. OH WELL! Last night we went to Andrew's for his going away party and had a good time. We ate Salad and Pizza and played Gestures and that other game where you can't say the words that are on the card?... It was lots of fun. I want the word game now, I had lots of fun with that one. I had never played either of those games before so I was surprised I liked it. Def. have to get that to play in the near future. I actually think mom would like it so that would be fun to do while we are visiting her :-)

So now it's Saturday and I just finished making Pancakes and Eggs. Evidently this baby of ours does not like eggs. I was in the middle of eating and immediately ran outside to "get rid of them". This same thing happened at IHOP a couple of months ago....weird. Overall I am still feeling really good. My belly seems to be getting bigger and I'll post some better pictures tomorrow when Stephen is home. I still haven't had any luck finding Maternity jeans so last weekend I just bought regular jeans in a size 2 and they fit really well. The waist is still a little big but that's good because now I can wear them for a little while. Now I kinda wish I had bought another pair in a lighter color so that I don't have to wear the same ones all the time. ..

Today I'm just going to clean house, do laundry, go grocery shopping, and then go all the way to winter park to pick up colored pencils for my class.

We are heading back up to Birmingham next Sunday, then to Nashville on Monday, Back to B'ham Wednesday afternoon, Vegas on Friday at 7 am, B'ham again on Tuesday at midnight and then back home on Jan. 1. We are going to be very busy little travelers and I can't wait!!!

Well, I gotta go and get busy with my day. I'll post again when we find out the sex of the baby. Have a great weekend.

What a day!

What a day this has been. Lets see, starting off my morning at work, at 6:55 am, a lady asks me if I am carrying twins! I calmly say "No, I'm 18 weeks pregnant; that would be 5 months". She then has the NERVE to say to me "WOW, I can't believe you are already SO big!" AS IF, I quickly inform her that I have "only gained 3 pounds". GREAT way to start off my day. What is wrong with people that they think it is o.k. to call a pregnant woman fat, basically. No one asked her what she thought of my weight gain. Besides, I am 5'3" with a very short waist and was pretty little before I got pregnant. Not to mention, I'M NOT THAT BIG!!! When exactly do people think it is that you start showing? At 8 months???? So that has been annoying me all day because I think it is just flat out rude.

So then I am ready to leave for the day. I had just gone to the mail room to make copies of a chapter outline when I realize that I don't have copies of the test that I am giving in the morning. So, I find the test, realize I don't have all the questions on there, complete the test, then go back down to the mail room to make more copies. So, I'm late leaving work; not that it really matters, I just like to come home.

This is the face I am making when the lady responds to me at the bank...

Then, I go to the bank to deposit a check. The check is not made out to me so I ask if the person is on my account can I deposit their check. She says "oh, you can deposit it no matter what". I say "Even if the last names are different"; "sure, no problem". So AFTER I write "Deposit only" on the check, and my account number she sends it back to me. "Sorry, I misunderstood what you said"?!!!! HOW DID YOU MISUNDERSTAND WHAT I SAID? I did not think they let idiots work at the bank. So now I have to go cash the check and explain that the people at Regions are not very smart and that's why the back of the check is all jacked up. Yeah, this is going to look really good. What it looks like is that I am trying to scam someone out of some money. I am so aggravated..... I am going to go change and go for a walk; maybe that will calm me down!

I am soooo glad that tomorrow is Friday!

P.S. I had to come edit the blog to let everyone know that after seeing my mad face I cannot stop laughing.

Hmmmm

With clothes I look bigger
18 weeks exactly
Me and my love bug

You know, I really want to see the baby. I don't think I can bring myself to pay for a 4D Sonogram but it sure would be cool. Only 13 more days until we find out the sex. YAY!!! So here are a couple of new pictures from tonight. Stephen and I were messing around and I was working out with my little 5 pound weights :-)

Home Sweet Home

16 weeks, 5 days

Stephen and I went to Birmingham to celebrate Thanksgiving with my mom, step dad, nephew, and brother. We had a WONDERFUL time. Mom and I made a yummy Thanksgiving lunch and I ate a ton. I am normally not such a big fan of Turkey but I guess the baby really likes it because I am all over it this year. I've had a Thanksgiving meal on three separate occasions already. Stephen played a lot of golf and I got to see all of my friends. It was so nice to be back home, I hate having to come back. I did some shopping with mom, ate out lots with my friends and hubby, and just hung out around the house. We got the Christmas tree for moms house the day after Thanksgiving and got her house all decorated. It looks sooo pretty. I should have taken a picture!! Stephen and I also did a little bit more painting. We are getting the house ready for us to move in :-) Mom and I went shopping one night for area rugs and we were very successfull, and tired...

We came back home yesterday and it took TWELVE long hours. The traffic on the interstate was unbelievably backed up. I guess everyone was traveling home not to mention it rained the whole time. We ended up taking back roads as much as possible and finally made it home at 9pm.

What a difference two weeks make. You can definitely tell I am pregnant at this point. I don't think any of my pre-pregnancy pants fit (unless I unbutton them) and my belly is getting bigger. I went to the doctor last week, the day before we left, and everything sounded good. I got to hear the heartbeat again and found out that I have only gained 3 pounds!! YAY!! I am worried about gaining too much weight so if I can keep the weight gain to a minimum I will feel much better. In 15 days we get to find out the sex of the baby. I am soooo excited!!! Oh, yesterday on the way home I think I was feeling the baby kick. Actually, as I am writing this I can feel the same little fluttery feeling. I think it definitely has to be the baby and it feels so cool :-) Well, that is all for now, I'm going to go back in the living room and sit with my love bug.

It's a cold day in Orlando...

Here's my sweet husband and our little babies

15 weeks and 4 days

Stephen and I woke up this morning and were headed out the door for our daily walk when I realized that the shorts and tank top I had on would not cut it. IT IS FREEZING OUTSIDE. So I came in and put on pants and a sweatshirt, Stephen grabbed a hoodie, and we made it about 4 houses down. It is too cold, we had to come back in. We'll try again later....Well, I've been feeling good all week. I'm still really sleepy but other than that I'm good. Oddly enough my belly looks smaller this week than it did last week. Maybe I was just bloated for a week? Who knows! I'm finally able to be nice to my students which has been a real struggle all year long. I'm telling you that these hormones have thrown me completely out of whack... Yesterday I packed for our trip to Birmingham. Yes, I know we don't leave for another week but I want to be prepared. Besides, I didn't think I would be needing any of my warm clothes down here; little did I know. I am super excited to go up and I really hope that this week just flies by.... Stephen is feeling better about his job. Sears has readjusted their pricing so he has been able to finally make some sales. YAY!!! Other than that I don't think there is anything to update :-) Y'all have a great week and I'll see some of you soon :-)
I finally uploaded new pictures to my photobucket so click on the link to see the latest :-)

It's been a while

14 weeks, 5 days
I haven't updated the blog in a while and mom got on to me this morning so here is an update :-) Last month we spent almost a week in Birmingham. My brother and nephew met us at moms so we got to spend some quality time together. Stephen mainly played golf while we were there but I hung out with mom and Christian and Haven. Christian, Haven, and I painted a few walls in moms house and went to the Mt. Laurel Fall Festival. We had a nice time. We brought mom back home with us and she stayed down here for a week and a half. Mom and I did lots of shopping while she was here and she got to hang out with her sister Rachel also. Stephen and I will be going back to Birmingham in a couple of
weeks for Thanksgiving so I am very excited.

I've been feeling better and better. I have actually noticed that the last few days I actually feel GOOD, which is a feeling I haven't felt in 3 months. I am 14 weeks and 5 days pregnant and my belly has definitely grown. I am still wearing my normal clothes but I did buy a few maternity things last week end just to be prepared :-) I finally told my principle that I am pregnant and she was happy for me. I am thinking that I will probably start my maternity leave at the beginning of April. Spring Break isn't until the week of April 7th so I was hoping to come back for a few days after that just so that I can get paid for the week of spring break. BUT, who knows, we'll just have to see how I feel and how big I am. Who knows if I'll still have the energy (or patience) to deal with the high school kids when I am 8 months pregnant!

Stephen and I went to an air show at NASA today, it was lots of fun. Neither of us have even been to an air show so it was nice to experience that together. It was however COLD outside and I had on shorts and a tank top; as did everyone else there. I stayed huddled under the blanket for the most part trying not to freeze to death.
I guess that's all for now... I'll update again soon :-)

Pregnancy Update

This is me last Sunday
Things seem to be looking up for me. I am not really feeling nauseous any longer but am still extremely tired. I have also finally gotten the energy to start working out again. Those of you that talk to me on a regular basis know that before I got pregnant I was at the gym 5-6 days a week so the lack of exercise for the last couple of months has really been getting to me. We did quit the YMCA because the weather is just so nice right now that I am just walking outside and doing arm/leg exercises at home. On a more frustrating note: I don't know if I have gained any weight (that's not the problem) however, my belly is protruding slightly and I just look chubby. I went to the mall today and was actually trying to hide my stomach. I had on a white tank top and it was not flattering. I am not used to being this self conscious so it was annoying. I didn't stay long because I felt like everyone was looking at my belly. I will be happier when I actually look pregnant and not just fat.... A lot of my pants are getting tight around the waist so I bought a couple of belly bands, one white, one black, and will start using them tomorrow. You put them around your waist over your unbuttoned pants and no one can tell that your pants aren't buttoned. It also gives extra coverage so that when I raise my hands to write on the board, or bend over to do whatever, my back doesn't show :-) So, that is that...Stephen and I are going to Birmingham on Tuesday, after school, and I am so excited! We were supposed to leave on Wednesday but I don't think Stephen is going to work Tuesday, which means we leave a day early. We are taking the dogs with us and I am taking some Christmas Tree decorations up so the car is crowded. However, I have already packed and am happy to say that all the decorations, luggage, and new window treatments for the log house fit in the trunk of my car. Stephen didn't understand why I wanted to pack two days early but it's just nice to have the peace of mind of knowing that I'm ready to go. I can't wait to see my mom and all of our friends. The fundraising banquet for By Provision is Thursday so that is the main reason we are going up, I like to help and just be there.
Oh, and did I mention that I have a feeling the baby is a girl? I don't know why I feel this way I just do. I have been looking at girl bedding just in case ;-)

Life is changing....

Stephen and I are going to be parents!! I am 9 weeks pregnant :-) The baby is due May 6th. I am very excited but a little nervous at the same time. I've been feeling really tired and off and on nausceous. If everyone would pray for us and the baby that would be wonderful. I'll post the first sonogram pictures soon!!

Football Weekends

Well not much has been going on down here in Florida. I've just been busy with work and being lazy :-) Stephen has been working and playing golf. He is looking for a new job in Birmingham so hopefully that will pan out for us. We've been watching football ALL weekend, every weekend for the past few weeks :-) I made football cupcakes yesterday and they were really good; Yummy!Stephen and I are going up to Birmingham in a couple of weeks so that we can help mom with the By Provision Banquet. I am super excited; we haven't been home since the end of June. On another note, unfortunately our house did not sell so it is back on the market. I pray that it will sell, but Fall is not the easiest time so we'll see. Stephen and I are both anxious to get back up to Birmingham so the waiting is killing us. So anyways, that's just a little update on our lives; nothing too totally interesting...

Retaliation

Well, I decided against retaliation this morning. I guess I can excuse their ignorance this ONE TIME. If it happens again I might be forced to go over and say something to them. So, Stephen and I just went to eat dinner and oddly enough most of the restaurants here in downtown Sanford are closed on Monday's. I thought that was really wierd but I guess that's small town mentality? We did get to eat on the lake and I had a yummy house salad with grilled chicken (and of course some french fries/hush puppies :-) ) Just thought I would let y'all know that I decided to control my rage this morning :-)

Our Neighbors

Our neighbors are so extremely rude. First of all someone stole both of our bikes. Secondly, this morning, Sunday, at 8 a.m. our neighbor to the right is in his suv honking the horn over and over. I actually got up, turned off the alarm, went out there, and gave him the "What is your problem" look. Still, two minutes later he was honking again. What I really want to do is sit outside of my house tomorrow morning when I am getting ready to leave for work at 6am and honk my horn a few times. Hmmmm, decisions decisions...

And it's still raining

So it has been raining here for 3 days. We were out of school on Tuesday and Wednesday, went back today, and are out again tomorrow. I am super frustrated because now we have to go to school for 2 days the week of Thanksgiving. This is total bull and I don't know what I'm going to do. If I had known we would be off it would be different but because I am a planner I am completely thrown off. Now, for the 3rd time, I have to re-assign my planner. UUUGGGHHHH!!!
On the way home today I thought my car was going to get stuck. Some idiot in a BIG TRUCK was going like 1 mile per hour and I had to go around him. What is with the idiots out there??? Well, I'm gonna go because obviously I am in a bad mood

Hurricane Days

Yesterday was my first day back at work with the students. It was a very successful first day of school and went by really fast. All of my classes are packed out to the max and I think they are all going to be lots of fun, but only time can tell. There is supposed to be a hurricane coming through today so school was cancelled. Lucky kids, the second day of school gets cancelled. We have to make the day up in October, but I think that's o.k because the week we have to make it up is still going to be a 4 day week :-) Lucky us, I love my job! I've been home all day just hanging out. It only rained a little bit so I guess that's good. I was going to go to a water fitness class today (for the first time) but of course the pool at the YMCA is closed. I should probably go to the gym at some point today but I am just being a little lazy. I don't want to get out in the nasty weather...I'm going to go and vacuum now. Y'all have a good day. I love you MOM!

Africa

I am just now getting a chance to update the blog. The rest of my Africa trip was amazing. Mom, Bubba, and I went to the beach for a week and had lots of fun. We drove 4 hours one day and stayed overnight in a lodge and then 4 hours the next day. The lodge had a lot of animals but they were tamed so it wasn't the same as seeing them at the game park. I did get to touch a rhino and a Kudu though. I was scared but did it anyways.

Once we got to the beach we spent one day going on a Seal cruise and riding around the town of Swakumpond (I think that's how you spell it). The seals actually get on the boat with us, which was pretty cool and a little scary. We also saw dolphins and pelicans. I never really worked up the nerve to touch the seals but some of the other people did. When we got back from the cruise I spent 2 hours at the spa getting a facial and a massage. It was so relaxing, thanks Mom! After that it was time for dinner and we at PIZZA!! It was yummy. The next day we rode 4 wheelers in the desert. We went up and down some of the largest sand dunes in the world. It was like a roller coster ride without a seat belt. It was a little scary seeing as we would go straight up one side of the dune and straight down the other. We were out there for 2 hours, I think. When we finished it was mom's turn to go to the spa so I took a nap while she enjoyed her facial and massage. We also ate a several really good restaurants on the ocean and watched the sun set. I had such an amazing time. I hope that Stephen and I can go back next summer; I know he would enjoy it. I would recommend to everyone that you make a trip to Africa at some point in your life. It is well worth the travel time :-) I have added most of my pictures the album but haven't finished all the descriptions. Check them out if you'd like.

AFRICA

I am in Africa and it is wonderful. I left on Friday, July 11th and below is a short update. I have a ton of pictures but do not have time to post them quite yet but I will get on it soon :-)

Day 1- July 11- 2 hr. flight from Orlando to New York; 4 hour layover; board plane to Johanasberg, South Africa

Day 2- July 12- arrive in Joberg at 5 pm. I have been on the plane for 18 hours straight! Take bus to hotel to spend the night.

Day 3- July 13- 2 hr. flight from Joberg to Windheok. My mom and bubba picked me up. We stayed overnight in a really cute lodge. Went to eat at a place called Joe's Beer House. They serve all sorts of meat, Oryx, Zebra, Kudu, etc... I eat COW and a baked potatoe.

Day 4- July 14- Drive 6 hours to mom's house. It is very big and very nice. All the houses (including hers) are surrounded by very high concrete walls in addition to razor wire at the top. Unpack and relax

Day 5- July 15- Run errands around town. I helped mom pick paint colors for the entire interior of the house and we ordered the paint. It's going to look very pretty. We hung laundry out to dry (no dryers!!!), washed dishes by hand, and prepared food. It's like being a housewife in the 1940's! We went to the grocery store; 2 actually, to get everything we needed.

Day 6- July 16- Went to the game park. It was so amazing. We saw soooo many different wild animals; Giraffe's, Elephants, Zebra's, Kudu, Oryx, Spring Bach, Wildebeest, and tons of other animals that I can't remember the name of at the moment. We drove around the park for 10 hours!! These animals are soooo big and it is so amazing to see them in person. There were 29 Elephants at the watering hole all at once. Then we saw 20 Giraffe's at another watering hole. I learned today, by observation, that they sniff each others behinds like dogs do. It was quite interesting.

I am about to take a shower and go to bed. I will keep the blog updated as I go and post pictures to my album soon!!

Summer!!!

Summer is here and it has been great. In June I went to my dads for a few days and Birmingham for a week. I finally finished the Alternative Certification program for my professional educators certificate; I could not be happier about that. We saw fireworks on the 3rd and the 4th and then again last night at the race so I am pretty much fire worked out. Although they were all pretty. So now it's July and Jackie and Patrick are down visiting. We went to the Daytona, Pepsi 400 yesterday. It was a lot of fun; which was a suprise to me. I thought it would be boring but it wasn't... I'm all packed and ready to leave for my trip on Friday :-) Going to Africa for 16 days to see my mom!!! So, that is pretty much all for now. Oh, I posted new pictures in my album so check them out.

Last day of work

WOOOOHOOOOO!!!! Today was my last day at work until the Fall. I am so excited and a little anxious...what will I do this summer? I do have plans to do a little traveling and we have some people coming down here but other than that I don't know. Today is Stephen's 27th birthday so we ate cake and I made lasagna. I have eaten so much today. I actually ate a big lunch and dinner, which is rare. I normally eat soup for lunch and a bigger dinner so I feel pretty full! But anyways...I'll keep y'all updated throughout the summer. I will have new pics soon too :-)

I cut my hair

I did it, I got my hair cut today... I like it and I like that I can still put it up. I do wonder if I should have gone a little shorter and added some layers though. I'll leave it for now and in a couple of weeks maybe I'll change it :-) I also added a few new pictures in my album.

My hair

I am thinking about cutting my hair. I have been growing it out for almost a year but now I am pretty much over it. It has gotten pretty long but the problem is that I never want to take the time to fix it so I always end up putting it up. One of the reasons I don't fix it is because I can't stand the feeling of my hair touching my back. I can even feel it through my shirts. So what is the point of having long hair if I am never going to wear it down?! I want to cut it to where it is right above my shoulders and put some auburn red high lights in it. I don't think I'll do the bangs again though because it is too much work...

Pictures

I just figured out how to add a photo album. I only have pictures from this past weekend and a couple of random ones from April but I'm working on it :-) Oh, and for those of you who don't know where to look just look to the left under "connections". Click on the word "photos"

MIAMI

We went to Miami this weekend and I must say it was an interesting experience. We got a lot of sun on Sunday and both of us were a little sunburnt but I am all better. Stephen is still in a little pain but he'll be o.k. We got home today and Stephen cut the grass while I went to the grocery store. Then we grilled hamburgers and Tostones and are now relaxing and getting ready for bed. Oh, we have a contract on the house. We won't have a definate yes for a while but I am thankful that we have a contract. The first people who looked at the house put an offer on it. I am praying that everything goes through o.k. and I would love it if everyone else would pray for us as well. Lord willing we will be back in Birmingham by August :-) Well, I just wanted to update; I'll be back later!

It's Friday

It's Friday and tomorrow Stephen and I are going to Miami for a little R & R! I am so excited!!! Well, we have 1 more week of classes and then exam week. I am so ready to get out for the summer, these kids are pretty much making me crazy. So everything is good down here. Stephen and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary last weekend :-) I can't wait for Miami, I want to eat some good spanish food. Oh, and we are taking Diva and Sox so that should be interesting. Hopefully I'll have some pics to post when we return :-)

The school year is almost over

YAY!!! I know it's been a while since I have had an update but I have been very busy and when I'm not busy I've been super lazy. Only 3 more weeks of school left and then I can rest for 2 months. This has been a great year, but I must say that I am glad it's almost over. By this time the kids are stir crazy and my patience is wearing thin. The seniors already have one foot out the door; their last day is next Friday. I find it very odd that we continue to hold class for an entire week after 1/3 of the students are gone. There will be no new material, basically we will all be glorified babysitters. Whatever. So, new news, Stephen and I have decided to oficially put the house on the market. I know, I know, we are very wishy washy. Well, truth be told it is Stephen that is so back and forth but he has made up his mind. There is no turning back. You know what this means, watch out Mama and Bubba, here we come :-) We leave the nest and then come flyin back in :-) I know it's going to wonderful to be back. I can hang out with my mom and my friends whenever I want without having to plan a trip. Anyways, everything is good down here with the hubby and myself, it's just hard not to think about going back home. This has been a good experience. I probably never would have become a teacher had I not moved down here. We've had a good two and a half years. Speaking of time, our wedding anniversery is coming up this Saturday, same day as my final. On one hand I can't believe it's been two years and on the other hand it seems like it's been forever. Life is good... I have to go. I need to vaccum the house and do some laundry

The joys of school

I started taking my last 2 classes for education last Saturday. It is not fun having to wake up at 7 am on my off day. I won't get to sleep in for the next 8 weeks. I will say that class is going well. We are there from 8:30-4:30 every Saturday. Well, I should say that is the time we are supposed to be there. She has let us out between 2-3 both weeks so hopefully it will continue that way. Work is also going well. We only have 7 weeks left; that means 6 weeks of instruction, 2 days of review, and 3 days of exams. Then I am OUT until August 11th. YAY!!! It's going to be a wonderful summer :-) Oh, and good news, I was recommended for a renewal of contract for the 2008-2009 school year. The first 3 years of teaching, at any school, you are up for renewal at the end of the year. This year there have been extreme budget cuts and I was lucky enough to not be affected. I guess you can chalk it up to no one else wanting to teach Interior Design (actually not KNOWING how to). The only way I wouldn't be re hired is if someone else in the county that teaches design got laid off and has precedence over me. I am the newest addition so my head is always on the chopping block! but anyways, I am going outside now to wash the cars before it gets dark. Just thought I would put an update out there :-)

I love it!!

We got our car last Thursday. It is so nice, I love driving it. Although, I am a little rusty driving a stick shift. Anyways, I have to rush, we are about to leave for church.

Monday, April 7, 2008

Unbelievable!!!

Stephen called the dealership today to get an update on our car (that was supposed to be here yesterday) and they informed him that the car hasn't left yet. Evidently the truck that will be transporting it had problems and is supposed to leave today. I can't believe they didn't even call, that is sooooo rude!!! So now they say it will be here on Wednesday, we'll see. I hope it is, I don't want to have to call them... keep you updated

Sunday, April 6, 2008

We're still waiting

It is 8:30 and our new car still is not here. It was supposed to be delivered sometime today but was a no show. I am guessing that the weather interfered with the delivery. I hope it gets here tomorrow, I can't wait to drive it! We are soooo excited!!!

Spring Break is ending...

It has been a wonderful Spring Break. I went to my dads last weekend and watched my nephew play his first baseball game. He was sooooo cute, I'll have some pictures up soon. His team won, 10-2 :-) Stephen and I got a new car and it is being delievered on Sunday, I am sooo excited! I can't wait to drive it. It has been a busy break, I've been to the beach and the pool, out of town, got a facial (getting a manicure/pedicure tomorrow), went to IKEA, and took care of my sweet husband. He was sick for about 2 days :-( While he was sick I cut the grass, washed my car and cleaned the house! Today was a very busy day. Oh, IKEA is pretty cool, it is huge, so if anyone is thinking of going I suggest you plan to go more than once. We were there for about 3 hours and had to rush through 1/2 of it because we were so tired. So anyways, that is the jist of what I have been doing. I am not ready to go back to work already but I guess I can't complain; how many other people get an entire week off for "Spring Break"?! I do still have tomorrow and Sunday so it isn't completley over :-)

Well, it is Sunday. The weekend has been good. I went to my Aunt Rachel's on Saturday and helped with Gabriela's birthday party. It was a beautiful day outside but it was very windy. Today Stephen and I went to church and then I went out to eat with some girls from work. We ate at a place called the Elephant Bar. It was really good. They have a wide variety of food. So now I'm just at home, getting ready for the week. I can't believe the whole weekend is over already. Luckily, this week is a four day week for us. There will be no school on Good Friday :-) Well, for those of you wondering, I have not been successful in not eating chocolate. I just love it too much. Most days I limit myself to one piece but it just isn't realistic for me as far as everyday is concerned. So OH WELL.... now we are thinking about renting the house. We are checking around to see what our options are, how much it will cost, how much rent we can get out of it, etc. I just don't think we will be able to sell the house ANYTIME soon so we might as well try to rent it. I mean, if we want to go back to Birmingham. There are pros and cons to staying and moving, we'll just have to see what happens.

My perfect weekend is coming to an end...

Well, what a wonderful weekend I have had. I really needed that extra day off. I took a nice long nap on Friday and caught up on my sleep. Saturday I worked on a "helping hands" project with some people from church. We worked on a community close to my house. It was a beautification project. The weather was nice but man the wind was working overtime. It didn't stop us though, we got everything done :-) Saturday night Stephen and I went to the Orlando Magic game, it was a good one. Oh, and speaking of the game, I had a slip up. Right before we left the house I had a cookie (well the dough anyways) for my sweet for the day. So, 3 hours later, I am sitting at the game minding my own business when my husband plops down beside me with dippin dots. I don't even think twice about it, he offers me a bite and my mouth flies open. As soon as I closed my mouth we both went "Uh-Oh", I had already had my chocolate fix for the day. Well, the damage was done and the taste was in my mouth, so after a little deliberation I decided to go ahead and eat more. I honestly did feel a little guilty. So, I thought I would skip out on the chocolate today. But no, I ate a cream filled Cadburry egg, and I enjoyed every minute of it. So, 1 little slip up...this is an on going battle. You don't just quit chocolate/sweets cold turkey!
Anyways, today we went to church, hit the gym, ate some Tijuana Flats, and then came home and did yard work. It has been a wonderful weekend. I am now prepared to go to work for another week! Have a great Sunday everyone.

The death of Chocolate

Today, the day I have wanted yet dreaded at the same time. Today is the day that I slowly begin parting ways with chocolate. Quana has challenged me to eat only 1 piece of chocolate per day and she is going to do the same. Unfortunately this includes cookies, brownies, cake, and all things dessert. I guess my problem really isn't with dessert, for some reason I feel as if cookies and cake are so much worse than chocolate. In reality they are, 1 piece of cake has far more calories than a piece of chocolate, however, I eat so much chocolate that it would probably actually be better if I just ate cake! So, today is the day. And to think, I almost wasted my daily indulgence on some cookie dough right after I had my Fiber One, Raisin Bran this morning! I'm going to save it until I just can't take it anymore. Hopefully this will be a lifestyle change, but in the past when I have done this somehow I always end up right back where I started, a Chocoholic. So I took the day off of work today, I am feeling a little sniffly but mainly I just needed a break from the kids :-) I'm going to stay home this morning and not venture out until I'm going stir crazy, which will probably be in just a few hours :-)

Yes, I did it

So I have decided to start a blog. I mainly started this so that my mom, dad, brothers, and others not on Myspace, can see pictures and keep up with me. My mom has a website and she has just started putting pictures up, I love it because it makes it feel like she isn't so far away. For those of you who don't know, she is in Africa so I only see her a few months a year. And of course my dad and brothers are in Tennessee and they don't Myspace. So that is that. I think I'm going to like this. I've started writing in a journal, well, my planner anyways, and I like it. Everything is good down here in Florida. The weather is BEAUTIFUL and I have been laying out for a little bit each weekend. Teaching is going great, I love the kids (most of the time) and I am really happy about the schedule. It seems as if we are always out for one reason or another which is WONDERFUL. Stephen is so incredible, I couldn't have asked for a better husband. He is so good with the dogs and with helping me around the house. Business is slow for him right now but that's o.k, it will pick up. For those of you that I told we are moving, we took our house off the market. Sorry for the bad news but the market is just terrible right now and we don't want to lose money, which is what will happen if we try to sell. So, we are here, for atleast another year. Maybe next spring the housing market will be looking up, who knows. I think it's going to be kinda hard for me to move anyways because I really like my school and the staff and everything else.....time will tell. Well anyways, I am off to the gym. Have a wonderful day!
